The Nigeria office of the International Islamic Charity Organisation (IICO) said it was spending N5.3 million on its Ramadan palliative to the vulnerable members of the society.
About 1500 beneficiaries are expected to get food items from the organisation during the exercise that is targeted at different locations across the country.
Speaking during the presentation of the food items in Minna, the Country Director, Alhaji AbdulWasiu Zubair Adeshina, said the organisation, with headquarters in Kuwait, was established with the aim of assisting human beings in times of natural disaster.
“We intend to give 1500 throughout the federation and we are targeting the vulnerable in need among the Muslims.
“We are covering nine states of Niger, Kaduna Kano, Osun, Lagos, Ogun, Kwara, Enugu and Nasarawa states, “ Adeshina said.
