An international Islamic organisation, Muslim World League, has distributed foodstuffs worth N29 million to the needy in some parts of Kaduna State.
The 2, 730 packages of food items distributed comprised of 10 kg of rice, one carton of spaghetti and 4 litres of palm oil per package.
Speaking shortly after the distribution, the organisation’s Secretary-General, Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, who was represented by his Nigeria representative, Undersecretary for Executive Affairs (MWL), Mr. Abdulrahman Bin Muhammad Almatter urged the beneficiaries to utilise the holy month and pray for Nigeria and the world in general to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
He stated that the donation was borne out of sincere love and feelings of the group for those people who would not be able to fend for themselves especially during the lockdown.
He also observed that the holy month of Ramadan gives ample opportunity for the Muslims faithful to pray for a complete healing against the disease.
