The Akwa Ibom State government has said no road constructed by the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel has failed.
The Commissioner of Works, Mr Ephraim Inyang-eyen, during an interview in Uyo, debunked reports that 97 per cent of road projects embarked upon by the present administration has failed.
He said a problem with one or two out of the 57 roads currently being constructed across the state does not amount to 97 per cent, adding that the continuous rainfall has slowed down several road projects.
He maintained that some of the roads alleged to have failed have not been completed but were at the asphalting stage, noting that he had ordered the contractors to suspend all earth work and asphalting jobs till the rains stop.
He said the error discovered on one of the commissioned roads had been corrected, adding that the government was waiting for the rains to stop for it to complete the roads as work cannot continue with the constant rainfall.
