Nigeria forward Sadiq Umar opened his Europa League goal account as Partizan  Belgrade edged out Astana 2-1 in their Europa League clash on Thursday night.
Umar scored in each half of Thursday’s encounter to give the Serbian Super Liga outfit their first win in the secondary European tournament in this campaign.
Thursday’s triumph in Astana moved Partizan Belgrade to the top of Group L ahead of Manchester United and AZ Alkmaar, with four points from two games.

In another game, former Super Eagles captain,  John Mikel Obi featured for 90 minutes as Trabzonspor were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Basel of Switzerland.
Anthony Nwaekeme came in as a second half substitute for Trabzonspor  in the game.
At the Stade  de Suisse, Sheyi Ojo who recently  pledged his allegiance to Nigeria was in action for the entire duration of the game in Glasgow  Rangers’ 2-1 away defeat to Swiss club, Young Boys.
Joe Aribo missed the game as a result of injury.
U-23 Eagles captain, Azubuike Okechukwu came in as a second half susbstitue in Istanbul  Basaksehir’s 1-1 draw  against German side, Borussia  M’glabach.
Azubuike replaced Danijel Aleksic in the  46th  minute.
Former Golden Eaglets captain, Rabiu Ibrahim was in action for 90 minutes in Slovan  Bratislava’s 2-2 away  draw against Portuguese  club, Sporting  Braga.
